Sweet and delicious air fryer glazed carrots are a veggie side dish that even the kids will like! Easy to prep and even easier to eat, this recipe might become your new weeknight favorite.
EQUIPMENT
- Air Fryer
- Carrot Peeler
- Knife and Cutting Board
- Mixing Bowl
INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound carrots
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp salted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp honey
- pinch sea salt
- fresh parsley, optional
INSTRUCTIONS
- Peel and cut carrots into 1-inch diagonal slices (make sure to slice carrots about the same size so they will cook evenly).
- In a large bowl, toss the carrots with melted butter and brown sugar.
- Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil and add the coated carrots to the basket. Spread out the carrots to cover the surface of the basket.
- Cook for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, shaking the basket after 5 minutes to rotate the carrots so they will crisp up on both sides.
- Place the cooked carrots in a bowl (take them out using tongs so the caramelized brown sugar below the grate doesn’t spill out into the bowl) and toss with maple syrup, honey and a pinch of sea salt.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve.
NOTES
- These glazed carrots are quite sweet. You may want to add less sugar, maple syrup, or honey depending on your taste.
- If the brown sugar begins to caramelize in the air fryer, it may smoke a little. Don’t worry about it. It should stop as soon as you open the door.
- Make sure you clean your carrots well, and if there’s any excess water on them, dry them before placing them in the air fryer. Excess water will stop them from caramelizing as well.
