Biscuits and Gravy Casserole combines chewy biscuits, breakfast sausage, eggs, Colby cheese, and white sausage gravy into one of the most delicious casseroles ever.
This is one of my husband’s favourite dish. Even with homemade sauce, this casserole comes together quickly and easily, making it feasible for even a novice cook.
I love serving this casserole for breakfast and lunch on long, quiet weekends. For an extravagant meal, serve with a fruit salad and an ice-cold strawberry mimosa.
Begin by browning the sausages in a large skillet. Add the crushed red pepper to the sausage and leave it for a few minutes. Then, in a heavy saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the flour and cook for a few minutes, whisking constantly. Slowly stir in the milk, salt, onion powder, and black pepper. Simmer until thickened, whisking frequently. Add about 1/2 cup of the cooked sausage mixture to the sauce and stir to combine.
