Slathered with a homemade herbed garlic butter spread and garnished with two kinds of cheese, French bread gets toasted to savory perfection with this irresistible cheesy garlic bread recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf day-old French bread
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon of sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley
- ½ cup finely shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Slice bread in half lengthwise using a serrated knife. Place on a baking sheet with the cut-side up.
- In a food processor, cut together butter, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and parsley until completely blended. Spread over cut side of french bread.
- Sprinkle an even layer of cheese over butter.
- Place in oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the edges of the bread are crisp and the cheese has melted.
- Remove from oven, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
I have made this with just Parmesan and with a combination of Parmesan and Mozzarella. Both are amazing but the mozzarella makes it a super cheesy, cheesy garlic bread. Yum!
