HOW TO MAKE CREAMY BAKED MACARONI AND CHEESE?

INGREDIENTS:

1⁄2 lb macaroni (preferably bowtie)

4 tablespoons of butter

4 tablespoons of flour

2 cups of milk

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of sugar

white pepper; if desired

8 ounces of cubed Velveeta cheese

8 ounces of sour cream

8 ounces small curd cottage cheese

2 cups of grated sharp cheddar cheese

paprika

DIRECTIONS :

Step 1:

Cook and drain macaroni slightly al dente and place in greased 2 qt casserole dish.

Step 2:

Melt butter over medium heat then add flour for a light roux.

Step 3:

Gradually add the milk and stir constantly, cooking until thickened.

Step 4:

Next add pepper, salt and sugar, mixing thoroughly.

Step 5:

Now add Velveeta cubes and stir until melted.

Step 6:

Then please add sour cream and cottage cheese, stirring until well combined.

Step 7:

Once done, pour over macaroni and mix well. indeed, it will look “cheesy” but will soak into the macaroni during cooking.

Step 8:

Make sure to spread cheddar cheese over the top.

Step 9:

Sprinkle with paprika.

Step 10:

Finally, bake at 350 for about 45 to 50 minutes.
